Chides Caswell for stripping the land of provisions without concern for needs of other friendly forces. Tells Caswell that he expects to receive supplies from him.

  • 3 August 1780. Letter from Horatio Gates To Governor Nash, North Carolina. Repeats that the army is desitute for food and rum. Notes stripping of the land by Caswell and Rutherford to the hurt of other troops.

  • 1 March 1787 Plan of the Battle fought near Camden August 16th 1780 from Tarleton's A History of the Campaigns of 1780 and 1781 in the Southern Provinces of North America. This map is believed to be by William Faden (1750-1836), as of 1771 the "Geographer to His Majesty and the Prince of Wales", possibly published elsewhere earlier. Although drafted by a non-participant, it might be considered primary since it is in the published work by an active participant in the battle and would have been subject to his scrutiny and approval.
