The Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway winds through a region that shares a common theme - its eruptive volcanic past. Visitors to the Byway can explore the fruits of nature's history while visiting a land well loved by its residents who value its scenic beauty, diversity and recreational opportunities.
Here we have made suggestions for visitors planning a one day drive of the Byway, and compiled a list of full day explorations of each of the regions of the Byway for those planning a longer journey. While visiting we invite you to do as the locals do - allow yourself to be distracted by the beauty and wonder of the region.
