Also known as "BUS" or suffixed as nnB, this designation was made official in 1934, and functionally replaced the 1933 CITY designation around 1960. Due to the signifcant numbers of both routes, they have been listed seperately. It is the most common bannered route type, used by most states. Business routes are used to show routes which leave the main US route and return at a later point, generally passing through the major downtown / commercial district. Unless otherwise mentioned, these are all the former route of the US highway through the heart of a city or town. This list primarily shows the main city / metro area serviced as opposed to the endpoints of the route like most of the other tables. The E-mail link to report a missing route is at the bottom on the page, I know there are far more than I currently have listed. |

When I was younger I wondered why buses had special routes, and why so many cars took Bus routes. - RVD
