"Another harmful factor is the lack of good scenery. The film was shot in Spain because of the low production costs and easy access to plenty of military equipment. The scenery suffers on a grand scale. The real battle took place in the thickly-wooded, freezing Ardennes forest. In the film, it takes place along dusty sand dunes and nobody looks the least bit cold."
