These biographical notes are meant to provide quick identifications of individuals mentioned in other articles around the site. In general, I have emphasized their connection to Tarleton and/or the Southern Campaign (i.e., why they are here) rather than trying to give a balanced picture of their lives. Where the individual is not well known and has never been the subject of a published biography (or at least not within the last century or so), I have written longer articles which will hopefully be of interest for their own sakes. These longer articles are indicated below with an icon.
