162 Battery was formed in 1950, along with 161 and 163 Batteries of 16 Field Regiment, RNZA, as part of New Zealand's response to the Korean War. It was made up of two four-gun troops using 25-pounders. The Battery was disbanded at the end of the War. For more information on the Battery and its activities, see the following:
