Equity in Educational Programs, 1975
Source, New Jersey Department of Education, "Equality in Educational Programs," Trenton, May 20, 1975.

This far-reaching document spells out the requirements for school compliance with state laws on equality in education regardless of sex, race, color, creed, religion, ancestry, national origin, or social or economic status. It deals with school, athletic, and classroom practices and with employment and contract practices. In 1975, public school districts were required to pass an equal educational opportunity resolution, to appoint an affirmative action officer, and to devise an affirmative action plan describing the content and timing of their move toward equal educational opportunity.
