 Oscar-winning actress Celeste Holm (1919- ).

Actress Celeste Holm has had a long and productive career in theatre, motion pictures and television, entertaining millions. She was in the original casts of several Broadway musicals, among them “Oklahoma,” and “The King and I,” in numerous films, including “Gentlemen’s Agreement” (for which she won an Oscar),  “All About Eve,” “The Snake Pit” and “Three Men
and a Baby.”

 Holm was president of Arts Horizons and active on the board of the Actor’s Fund. She was appointed chair of the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Development Commission.  President Reagan appointed her to the United States Council on the Arts. She received an honorary degree from Norwood University in 1981, has been knighted by the King of Norway, inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame and recognized and honored by her peers in the Motion Picture Academy. Holm lives in Morris County.
