Juliet Clannon Cushing

Cushing, an advocate of protective labor legislation for women,  founded the Consumers' League of New Jersey in 1900.   She served as its president for 30 years.  Cushing was largely responsible for the introduction of the state factory inspection, and she worked tirelessly for limits on child labor.
