Amazon. The Orthodox Church by Timothy Ware (second edition).

Ware's book is highly respected and frequently recommended introduction to Orthodoxy for the lay reader. (For what it's worth, I found it extremely readable and engaging.) Ware, now Bishop Kallistos, converted from Anglicanism and is a supporter of Orthodox ecumenical efforts.

Amazon. Reclaiming the Great Tradition : Evangelicals, Catholics & Orthodox in Dialogue edited by James S. Cutsinger. The Amazon reviews give two diametrically-opposed opinions. One reviewer, apparently not Orthodox, loves it. The Orthodox reviewer excoriates it, saying that "For the Orthodox Church, discussions such as this one are essentially (warning: politically incorrect term to follow) anathema"; Catholics and Evangelicals "DO NOT SHARE in the Great Tradition."

Amazon. Anglican-Orthodox Pilgrimage edited by Franklin Billerbeck. Personal conversion accounts.

Coming Home : Why Protestant Clergy Are Becoming Orthodox edited by Peter E. Gillquist.

Amazon. The Greek East and the Latin West by Philip Sherrard.

Amazon. Catholic and Ecumenical: History and Hope by Frederick M. Bliss, S.M. Subtitled "Why the Catholic Church Is Ecumenical and What She Is Doing About It."

Amazon. John Paul II and Interreligious Dialogue (Faith Meets Faith) by Byron L. Sherwin and others. Focuses on Buddhism, Islam and Judaism.
