British/Commonwealth Armoured Division


Changes - Armoured car regiment added to division troops in the United Kingdom. The Mediterranean theatre did not conform. The two motor battalions of the Support Group were transferred; one each to the two armoured brigades. Support Group was given was given one lorried infantry battalion. There was one anti-tank regiment and one light anti-aircraft regiment instead of a mixed regiment. Another field squadron Royal Engineers was allotted to Division Royal Engineers, and the Field Park Troop Royal Engineers became Field Park Squadron Royal Engineers.

Tank establishment of an armoured division remained unchanged at 340 tanks.
