British/Commonwealth Armoured Brigade


By WE II/101/2.wef 26 August 1942 an HQ Armoured Brigade was given 2 AA armoured cars; and by II/151/2 wef same date, an Armoured Regiment was given 8 AA tanks. By WE I/5E/2 wef 19 March 1942 an Armoured Regiment had been given a Recce Troop of 10 scout cars for the HQ Squadron; also the fifth troop per Squadron which had been taken away in May 1940 was restored (WE II/151/2 wef 26 August 1942) thereby increasing the tank establishment of an Armoured Regiment by 9 cruisers - to 61. These additions applied to Armoured Divisions in the United Kigdom and to 6 Armoured Division in North Africa; they were not applied to the ME Armoured Divisions until late in 1943.
