Nineteenth Century Engraving
(after the Anonymous Miniature)

It loses much of its detail in the translation to an on-line image, and is often photo reprinted badly in 20th/21st century books, but in its original form (as part of the set of illustrations prepared for Frank Moore's Diary of the American Revolution, first published in 1860) this engraving by W. G. Jackman is an exquisite example of the superb quality of 19th century printing techniques.
