- The complete (incomplete) Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin in a frame-based html-version done by Danny Barnhoorn and George Welling
- November 24, 1996
- Three new essays added to the project:
- October 15, 1996
- New biographies of Richard Henry Lee by
James A. Pavolini, and of Salmon Portland Chase
and
Edwin McMasters Stanton by Lydia L. Rapoza.
- September 19, 1996
- We have a added a facility to search all the pages of the project for keywords.
- June 26,1996
- Completion of the Autobiography of
Geronimo
- Added the chapters Early America and Toward the 21st Century to the project: the text of these chapters comes from the 1994 Version of An Outline of American History.
- Those sections that were rewritten for the 1994 version have been linked to the pre-1994 versions. This gives an enlightening view on how official historiography changed.

- Astrid Baas and Alien Wolbink prepared the State of the Union speeches of
Bill Clinton and provided a short biography of Bill

- An essay by Mike Crane, Progressive Historiography of
the American War for Independence

- Paula Broekman, Jan Hendrik Smeenge and Albert Everaarts prepared the
State of the Union speeches of
George Bush. They also wrote a
short bio.

- The Virginia Resolutions of 1798, and the Kentucky Resolution of 1799 have been added to the
list of sources. Also Martin Luther King's famous I
have a dream speech from 1963 has been added.

Completely redone biography of Andrew
Jackson by Hal Morris
Chapter 7 from an Outline of American History has
been added to the project in marked up form. This Chapter covers the period
from the outbreak of WW I to the end of WW II.
- January 9, 1996
- With a new group of students we have started the mark-up proces of the two
remaining chapters of "An outline of American History", which will bring the
scope of the project upto modern times. The markup will take some time, but in
the meantime the plain text of the chapters will be available. We invite
everyone to contribute essays on topics from this period.

- Essay on the Federalist Papers Explaining the
Constitution by Nathan Glick, scanned from An Outline of American
Government, a publication of the United States Information Agency.
