So I hiked back down to my truck, got back on US 25E (Missed my
chance at a picture of the end of US 58) and went through the
famous Cumberland Gap Tunnel. Kentucky and Tennessee are very
proud of their ends of the tunnel, it makes for a grand exit on
either side. There are also signs reminding you not to bring
anything into the tunnel that might blow up. There are massive
fans inside the tunnels, keeping circulation going. The tunnel is
also not terribly long, daylight on the far side was quick to
appear. Once through the tunnel I went to the main entrance of
Cumberland Gap National Park on the west side of the road. I had
just come from the east side, so that was not encouraging. (Image
