Ken Lewis
Born in 1950 in the tiny hamlet of Reynoldston (near Swansea) in the
Gower Peninsula of South Wales. When I left school in the mid-1960s
I began training to become a Mechanical Engineer at a local steel works
(largest in the UK). While training I attended university to specialise
the metallurgical side of engineering. In the 1980s, due to ill health,
I had to part from my beloved engineering and became involved in accounting.
You may consider this to be a strange change of career, but the accuracy
needed in both disciplines was virtually the same, albeit one was on
paper and the other physical. After spending about 20 years in accounting
my career was again cut short because of rapidly failing eyesight. Since
then I have been doing research on my postal history, which has kept
my mind active, and allowed me to write many articles on my findings
for others to use in their researches.
