FEBRUARY 1904 - SEPTEMBER 1905

Kent Crawford
I have been researching naval gun performance for thirty five years. In the late '70s and early '80s I was part of a team that sought to develop a computer program that would produce range tables and calculate armour piercing performance at the same time. But in light of the work of William Jurens and Nathan Okun, that effort was abandoned. Since, my work has been tailored to be compatible with theirs.

The major problem with researching in this field is the scarcity of meaningful data on the one hand, and weeding out the errors and spurious data on the other. But being an academically trained Historian, and an accountant, the numbers involved in this type of research do not scare me. My data base now covers most naval guns from 1860 to 1945.
