NZ Artillery units   1954 - 1964

In 1955, the RNZA consisted of the following mixture of Regular and Territorial Force units.

    In 1958 the Regiment was redesignated the Royal Regiment of New Zealand Artillery.

    In 1964, the New Zealand Army was reorganised and the Regular and Territorial Force units became more integrated:

    • 3 Field Regiment
    • 9 Coast Cadre
    • 10 Coast Cadre
    • 11 Coast Cadre
    • 4 Medium Battery
    • 1 Light Anti-Aircraft Battery not raised

    • School of Artillery, The Army Schools
    • 'A' Battery, TF Depot, Army Training Group, Waiouru

    Although New Zealand contributed forces to the Malayan Emergency (1956 - 1960) and to the Confrontation between Indonesia and Malaysia (1964 - 1966) the RNZA did not deploy as a unit until the Vietnam War.
