The purpose of this site is to provide a valuable contribution to the understanding of one of the lesser known aspects of aviation history: The air war over the Eastern Front between 1941 and 1945. The material presented on this site is partly excerpts from the six-volume book series on this subject that the authors, Christer Bergström and Andrey Mikhailov, currently are working on.
The authors would welcome any contribution to this work: facts, eyewitness accounts, and photos. The authors will copy any photographs sent, return them immediately, and provide credit in the book. Any comments are also welcome.
Aviation historians Christer Bergström and Andrey Mikhailov are currently working on a series of books that will give the most thoroughgoing overall description ever compiled of the air war over the Eastern Front: BLACK CROSS/RED STAR: Air War Over the Eastern Front 1941-1945.
