SOMME - 90th ANNIVERSARY TOUR

To commemorate this important anniversary Leger Holidays are pleased to announce a tour to attend the ceremonies that will take place on 1st July 2006, also a Saturday, and exactly 90 years since that fateful day.

YOUR HOLIDAY ITINERARY

Friday 30th June to Monday 3rd July 2006:   - The exact details of all the ceremonies, and hence the final programme, is still in the planning stage, however the itinerary will be planned and arranged by Paul Reed, our head First World War guide, to take you to many of the relevant sites in the Somme area including: Thiepval Memorial; Serre - the Pals Battlefield and other locations between Gommecourt and Montauban. The tour will stay at a hotel in the Somme area.

Thursday 29th June to Sunday 2nd July 2006:   - Coaches on this departure will be based nearest to the Somme (Amiens-Arras area) and depart their hotel especially early to attend the moving remembrance ceremony at the Lochnagar Mine Crater and afterwards at Le Tommy Bar in Pozières.
