The Forgotten Front

Armentières to La Bassée

The 'forgotten front' runs from Armentières in the north to La Bassée in the south, taking in all the major battlefields of the 1914/15 period: Aubers Ridge, Festubert, Fromelles, Givenchy, Neuve Chapelle and Richebourg. This part of the Old Front Line will provide historical information on this sector, and the Battlefield Tourism pages will supply you with useful details for visiting the area.
