   Dear Mr. Roberts,

I am a decendent of General John Glover of Marblehead, Mass., for which the
ship was named. On April 17th, 1965 my mother (Jeri Glover Loomis) and my
Great Aunt Freida Signor, the ships' co-sponsor, christened the ship. The Navy
had researched John Glovers' decendents and down the family tree, found my
family's whereabouts. My Mother and Aunt were invited to Bath, Maine to take part
in the ceremony. I have newsclippings and photos of this event. My mother
recently passed away and I received all of her mementos of this event, including
the bottle, wrapped in a flag, that was used to christen the ship.

While my mother was alive, she would periodically contact the ships' commanding
officer. I am interested in continuing this contact and would appreciate any info
you may have regarding this. I'm also looking for photographs, past and present of
   the ship.

I look forward to hearing from you.

   Sincerely,

   Tony Loomis
