I went aboard the Glover in Bath Maine as part of the Pre Com Detail, in
the spring of 1965.

I think there were five of us just out of Pressure Fired Boiler
School.Hawkins,Cram,Alverez,Harrell,and myself.

I came aboard as a first class, and made Chief on that ship in 1967.As I
recall, the ship spent alot of time in drydock in South Boston, and alot of
time in Gitmo. As compaerd to the other ships I was on the Glover was a
bore. By the looks of some of the other mail, things picked up a bit after
1968. I was gone by that time.

I'm still in touch with a few of the guys.Bob Pugh, Dusty Cram and John
Mallon. I know that Bob retired as a LCDR.

If any of the old crew are out there drop a line.
