WWII Destroyer Escort sailors are leaving this life at a rather rapid rate
(all WWII veterans are, for that matter). So as time passes, we all the more
should attempt to stay in touch.
I'm saddened that some of my shipmates have chosen to be removed from the
USS Crouter, DE-11, roster. We still have annual reunions, though my wife
and I have only been able to attend one of them. God bless all you sailors
who are still hanging in there. Let's try to keep those service days alive
in our memories! As small as my contribution of service aboard the Crouter
was, I'm still proud to have been a member of that crew for 31 or 32 months.
