Eugene Scialdone joined the Navy in early 1936, and was a Plankowner when Maury was commissioned in 1938. He served on her until she returned to San Pedro in 1943, where he was removed and sent to the hospital for medical reasons. His rate at that time was Chief Petty Officer (Boatswains Mate.) His Battle Station was Gun Captain No.1, 5"/38 Cal. Gun. |
