Wisconsin

RVD: Just when you thought the topic of new state highway signs had been milked dry, here's an udder one. A butter one. The cream of the crop. Wisconsin has clung to a cheezy triangle based design for so long no one remembers why it was chose in the first place. Time to get churning on a new design. The most noticable improvement is the moove to add colors, green and orange. The bovine was added because of the dairy industry, in orange, a good cheese color. Curds were tested but no one knew what they were supposed to be. Green is readable and relates to a tiny port town on Lake Michigan near the top of the state with a football team. Despite my best intentions, I'd bet someone has a cow about this, no matter which way I slice it.

From Albert Calis: The first of my designs for the WI state road shield basically just added text to the existing "shield". On the other one, I figured if WA can have Washington's silhouette and ND can have one of an Indian, why not WI have one of a cow? I mean it IS America's Dairyland right?

From Bobby Peacock: Yeah, I know this is an udder-ly old joke, but I doubt anyone in Wisconsin would have a cow about it.

CCS: welll.......

From Zack Norton: Two shields for Wisconsin.  They are basically the same sign, but I used two different colors. The Hwy. 30 sign uses red and white for the University of Wisconsin, and the Hwy. 113 sign uses Packer colors.
