Oregon

RVD: Another state that currently uses the state seal as a highway marker. The problem is that it resembles an acorn, without the cap. It is not very colorful, either. This idea better represents Oregon to me. The mostly retangular shape of the state is a great place for numbers, and the blue and yellow colors are from the state flag. If you do not like the state name, a highway name could be placed there. Mike Wiley's Oregon Highways site has a listing of the Oregon highway names.

From Michael Hensley: Oregon uses the state seal in the upper left-hand corner and the colors from the flag.  I originally had the beaver from the obverse side of the flag on the sign, too, but it made it too "busy".  I had a version with a cutout of Mount Hood on the top, but w/o a picture of Mt. Hood printed on it, it would look like someone didn't have a ruler when they cut out the sign..
