From Jeff Leadbetter: I was just thinking, and I thought up these ideas to spruce up the Ohio sign, with a colored outline and a flag.
From Brian Grady: A possible state highway sign for Ohio. It features the state name, outline, and colors (based primarily on a major university in the state). Perhaps in a more organized and less bureaucratic world, all 50 states could adopt a common format along the lines of this design. It adds needed color, but wouldn't baffle any unintelligent out-of-state commuters.
From Gus Polly: I was toying around with ideas for an Ohio sign, and I came up with these, featuring various orderings of red, white, and blue, Ohio's state flag colors, along with the state silhouette. The symbol in the corner (blown up in image 5) is based off of a symbol I saw on an old Ohio license plate from 1915, which, if you can see has an I inside an H indide an O -- O-H-I-O. I thought might be interesting if the state would use it as a symbol after the whole Bicentennial thing is over and done with.
From Brian H.: A This is a possible new highway route marker for Ohio. It is based on Ohio's distinctive double pennant state flag.
