From Albert Calis: Here are my shield ideas for the Motorway markers for The Netherlands. They currently only have a red rectangular shield, and frankly I think it is boring to say the least. What I have done is taken the existing shield and stretched it to a square, and added my designs to fill in the extra space. The first shield simply has the country name in both Dutch and English. The second shield has the national flag above the number. The third shield has the flag as well as the logo for the European Union. The fourth shield is similar to the second and third shields, only it has the EU logo bracketed by the national colors.
