New Hampshire

RVD: Time to give the Old Man of the Mountain a rest.  How many things can they slap him on, anyway? This proposed sign has the state name, a state outline and a green color that will set the state apart from its more drab neighbors. (Update, May 2003 - The "Old Man" rock formation along Franconia Notch is gone. Gravity is a harsh mistress. It makes you wonder if there really is a 'Curse of the Coin' for the State Quarter project. Time to stop advertising something you don't have.)

From Albert Calis: I like Robert's New Hampshire shield idea, so I decided to expand on it, using a nifty font for the state name, and adding pine trees on the bottom for artistic effect. Of course I couldn't forget the state shape, which is so much better than the Old Man of the Mountain. By the way, I strongly feel that New Hampshire should do away with the Old Man design, since the actual Old Man of the Mountain rock formation collapsed not too long ago.

From Ernie Tripp: Primary (RED) shield for New Hampshire.

From Gene Van: The Old Man is no more; it's time to retire the Old Man design. I based this somewhat on the Idaho shield layout but used blue background to match the NH state flag.
