From Jim Geiger: How about a CANAMEX marker?
From Cody Goodman: I thought I would make a shield used for CANAMEX routes, such as the future I-69.
From Andrew Muck: Here's my idea for a Canamex sign, except I would call it a North American Route. What I did was take the maple leaf from Canada, and put it in red, since it would look silly in any other color, than since I figured all 3 countries had red and white in their flags take the colors from USA and Mexico that they don't share, so I took the top half of the Interstate shield and put it in blue and put on the bottom half of the "Rutas Nacionales" sign which I colored in green. Also harking back to old US and Interstate signs, I decided to put the country you're in on the blue part and put the state, estado or province you're in above the numbers.
From Jed A. Wilkinson: 1.) I would convert some of the US Roads into Contiental Secondary Routes especially the ones that Cross into either Canada or Mexico. 2.) Try this shield for North America. For the route numbering how about starting from the International Date Line (1 - Western Alaska) to the next International Date Line (999 - East Coast of New Zealand) for the North and South Routes (odds) and connecting the North and South Poles starting at (2 - Along Antarctica) to (1000 - Along the Arctic Ocean) for the East and West Routes (evens) to go along with the grid of the Earth.
From Kyle P. Hogan: There is no officially designated route for the Panam Highway in the U.S. or Canada, and how can that be tolerated! There would surely be some bickering over routing, but I just can't imagine it not going through San Antonio, so my first example uses I-35 as its number. Also shown are Mexico Federal Highway 190, Ecuador Highway 35, and Argentina National Route 9. I'm a big fan of the upside-down schoolhouse pentagon, and the only graphic I could think to include was the outline of the Americas.
From SED: This is a proposed shield for signing the PanAm Highway in the United States, assuming the highway uses existing routes. In each country the shield would be the same but the color scheme would be different.
