Georgia

(a) (b)

From David Kendrick: For my remake of the Georgia shield, I used the same stylized peach that was used for the 1996 Olympics and can still be seen on any number of souvenir postcards, and on the welcome signs at the South Carolina border. Note that the numbers are black with a white outline to set them off against the peach. I think the peach-colored border stands out well. (a) Georgia is also fond of putting its banner text right in the middle of the signs. There are a lot of different banner text options: LOOP, CONN, TOLL, APP DEV, and a couple more. (b) Former Governor, now Senator, Zell Miller was fond of throwing money into the northern part of the state; one of his tactics was the "Appalachian Development" highways, which get their own special color scheme for their state highway shields. Right now it's a medium-blue background on the state's regular white-on-black shield; here, we just paint the sign blue.

From Marion Svendrowski: I like the Idea of Using State Outlines. How about for Georgia Signs it combines the Peach with the State Outline?
