READING COMPANY
This page will cover the branch to New Hope, PA. Just west of Jenkintown is Glenside and the junction for the branch to New Hope. Electrified commuter service ended at Hatboro until an extension of the catenary to Warminster extended this service a few more miles north.
Glenside is the junction point with the Bethlehem branch main.
A new station is now here in Roslyn.
A poster on the station showed the older building.
A very basic wooden shelter at Crestmont.
Willow Grove station. This town is more noted for the nearby Naval Air Base.
Hatboro was originally the end of electrified service.
A nice new building at the present terminus for the Septa service in Warminster.
North of Warminster the branch is operated by the New Hope and Ivyland Railway. The character of the line changes dramatically as seen here. Rushland Depot.
Wycombe, PA. Several Reading stations had this 'witches hat' design.
At the time of this photo, 1982, an old Baldwin was being used for local work. Several derelict CNJ commuter cars were here for some time. Apparently they were unsuitable for the tourist trains out of New Hope.
The next station was Lahaska, does anyone have a photo to add to this space?
The end of the branch is New Hope, PA. Located on the Delaware River across from Lambertville, NJ. There are tourist trains operating from here that can make for nice trip. Antique shops, etc. are located in both towns.
