THE HUDSON LINE
This page will cover the northern part of the Hudson Line from Poughkeepsie to Albany, NY. This was the primary passenger mainline of the New York Central Railroad. It is currently operated by Amtrak with frequent service between Albany and New York City and other trains to Buffalo, Toronto, Montreal and Rutland, Vt also passing along here.
MetroNorth commuter service ends in Poughkeepsie, so this will be mostly Amtrak and some former NYC stations still existant.
Hyde Park is most famous for being the regular home of Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
Amtrak FL9 491 zips along with a southbound train to New York City. 9-3-1989.

Amtrak inherited the newer small station for the Albany area located across the river from the city proper.
E8 224 arrives with train 71, the 'Empire State Express' on 9-20-1974.

On June 30, 1988, 414 is fueled up.
By 1990, things were improving equipment-wise. The Turbo trains covered
many trains and Amfleet cars
replaced the older 1950's era coaches.
Although nearly new at the time, these F40's today are disappearing quickly. October 1990.
