Maps of 1881-1885

Below: This sectional map was drawn to show the South Penn grade as it crossed crossing # 5 at Lutzville.

The interesting story about this crossing was that the owner though knowing the grade was to cross their lot requested the line to be sent to the north of the buildings. This mill as well as the home stillstands to this day The island has been shifted slightly since this map was made but that is expected since this map was drawn and the 120 years it sat.

Bedford/Division # 4.

Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man    Right: This map shows the South Penn passing along the south shore of the Juniata River through the town of Bedford.

The South Penn had divided the right of way into thirty mile sections. The fourth division began just to the west of the Bedford Richard Street bridge crossing.
