On 15 July 1965, 161 Bty RNZA reported single gun ready in Vietnam. It was the start of a long involvement in the Vietnam War by the New Zealand Artillery. (See New Zealand Artillery in the Vietnam War.) Forty years later, veterans gathered in Palmerston North to celebrate.
