Note that the equipment has no traversing gear, but was 'shoulder controlled,' i.e. the layer put his right arm over the shoulder piece, grasped the pistol grip with his right hand, and the elevating handwheel with his left. He then swung the gun by applying his weight to the shoulder piece.
