Nothing says "Colorado" like the Rockies. Along the Front Range of the Rockies, there are actually nine mountain chains running north and south. At the far northern end of the chain in Colorado is the magnificient "Mummy Range." It was an early visitor to Colorado who imagined the sillouette of the mountains as resembling a mummy lying on its back. The early Indians of the area, the Arapahos, called this range the "White Owls" for the always present white snowfields which looked like molted feathers.
