Timber framing has been increasing steadily in popularity, both for residential and commercial construction. This full day workshop will explore the basic parameters for timber frame design-rules of thumb for timber frame design, integrating the structure with the architectural concept, construction details and enclosure systems will be discussed. A short design exercise will give each student the opportunity to design a small timber framed structure. This class is meant to provide design professionsals and builders with a basic working knowledge of timber frame design concepts. AIA CEU Credits can be arranged.
