The Golden Age of Radio was filled with many personalities who appeared on both the silver screen and the wooden box. Here are a few images of some of the better-known stars.

Starred in several silent and sound films. Star of Dr Christian (a radio version similar to film Country Doctor
Ronald Coleman
Ronald Colman -
Yet another Academy Award winner who also starred in both silent and sound movies, such as Beau Geste. Starred in the radio series Halls of Ivy. Frequently appeared on radio's Jack Benny show and others.
Bing Crosby
Bing Crosby -
Early appearances on Kraft Music Hall. Frequent guest performer during 30 year radio career. Many song hits. Academy Award winner for film Going My Way. Starred in many films. Also see Bing Crosby info elsewhere at this site and others.
Orson Welles
Orson Welles -
Often called a "formidable" actor/producer/director. Founded Mercury Theater at age 20; Played Lamont Cranston / The Shadow in 1937. Produced Mercury Theater of the Air. Famous for radio presentation of War of the Worlds and movie Citizen Kane. Host for Radio's Black Museum and starred in Lives of Harry Lime.
