Old-Time Radio Kids' Adventure Shows

Back in the good ol' days, kids wouldn't come home from school and watch TV. They listened to their favorite kids' radio adventure shows instead. Today, those old radio programs are classified as "juvenile adventure" shows, and are frequently 15- or 30- minute serialized episodes, where the hero is left in a precarious predicament at the end of each episode.

Here is a list of some of those kids' adventure shows. The button after an entry means there is a short RealAudio® soundbyte available. Click on the to hear the soundbyte. More information is available for some of the shows. Click on the *INFO* to jump to those pages.
Also visit the Kids' Adventure Show BBS, hosted by Jack French, where you can share your memories with other "youngsters" of the time.

If you enjoyed the old aviator shows, such as Smilin Jack, Captain Midnight, Hop Harrigan, Sky King, etc., Jack French has written a special article, just for you!

Don't forget to visit the Kids' Adventure Show BBS, to ask questions or share memories with other fans of old kids' adventure shows. Be the first on your block to actually write some messages there! Just think what the other kids will say, when they learn that you were able to read and write messages all on your very own! You don't have to include a box top, you don't have to include a dime, and you don't have to lick that ol' 5-cent stamp. In fact, you don't even have to be a kid any more, as long as you were one at some time. Mr. Jack French is standing by to read all your questions and find you some answers. So, don't wait any longer - get your paper and pencil (oops, I mean keyboard and mouse) ready, and jump over to the kids BBS, where kids of ALL ages can have even more fun! What are you waiting for? Click on the link NOW, and start meeting new friends. Just tell 'em that Jack sent you. And, remember to have your secret decoder device handy, just in case you are sent a mysterious message by one of the members of the mysterious message gang.
