Conrail Page 2
Conrail Shared Assets, PRR 2942 sits idle at Lakehurst after the crew has left in this April 2000 photo.  Note the Centerbeam flatcars toward the end of the train.
PRR GP38 2946 and CSX GP40-2 4402 sit in Lakehurst in May 2000.  Personally, I think the 2946 needs a trip to Altoona for a new paint job.
This picture is called "Guess Where the Tracks Are".  In this August 1999 photo, two Conrail locomotives,  a GP38-2 & GP38 rest at Lakehurst.  This view is from the Route 70 overpass, looking south.
Here is CSX GP40-2 4402 approching the Freehold Secondary.  This photo was taken around 8:30 in the morning, not at dusk as it may appear.
PRR GP38 2942 heads toward Lakehurst through Lakewood at the end of March, 2000.  This view is from Faraday Avenue, and I have patiently waited for a year and a half to get this March 2000 shot.

PRR GP38 leads two gondolas for delivery in Lakewood in March 2000.  This is near the former location of CNJ's Lakewood station.
PRR GP38 2942 pulls into Lakehurst under the Route 70 overpass in this March 2000 photo.  Turn back the clock thirty years and picture a CNJ SD35 or SD40 at the point.
New signs placed by Conrail on all grade crossing signs to report any malfunctions.
The first "foreign" motive power on the Southern Secondary was CSX GP38-2 2745 on April 21, 2000.  Since then, CSX painted locomotives have been spotted quite frequently.
GP38s PRR 2946 and CSX 1975 crawl at 10 miles per hour through downtown Lakewood in this April 2000 photo.  This area is where the Lakewood station used to be.
This June 2000 photos sees CSX GP38-2 2746 and CSX GP40-2 4402 laying over in Lakewood, not Lakehurst as what usually happens.
Here is a closeup of CSX GP38-2 2746.  Personally, I can handle the CSX paint scheme easily over the NS black and white.
CSX sub-lettered GP40-2 stops so the switch can be thrown and the train can proceed onto the Freehold Secondary.  A lumber yard is a fifth-mile onto the line, where the boxcars will be dropped off.  This is September 2000.
