45 acres (town of Weston), 413 acres (town of Easton), and 300 acres (Connecticut DEP)  = 758 total acres

Located north of the Morton Preserve.

Directions:

I-287 to Merritt Parkway North, exit 42, left turn onto Weston Road; left turn onto Route 136; left turn onto Redding Road; drive 3.3 miles and turn right onto Valley Forge Road; turn right onto Trout Brook Lane. (?  -- in this general area)  

or

Take Merritt Parkway (CT 15) to Exit 44, Route 58. Take 58 North (towards Redding). Go 4.1 miles to Norton Road on Left. Take immediate left onto Wyldewood Road. Park at cul de sac at end of Wyldewood road.

Tom Ebersold (AMC Hike Leader) writes that the following is an easier version to follow:

I-287 to Merritt Parkway North. Exit 42. Take Rt. 57 North and head north for 0.7 miles. Right turn at the next light onto Lyons Plains
Road. Bear left at the split to stay on Lyons Plains Road. Go 3.5 miles. At the stop sign you will see three roads. Take the middle
road, which is Valley Forge Road. Go 1.2 miles. Right onto Bradley Road. Park in the gravel lot at the end. Maps are available at the

History:

Actor Paul Newman personally spoke with the governor and state legislators on the importance of land preservation legislation.

1998 (June)  --  the Governor of Connecticut John G. Rowland announced that Trout Brook Valley would become an area of natural open space, thereby saving it from development.

1999 (September 2)  --  Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Deputy Commissioner David K. Leff held a ceremony transferring 758 acres from the Bridgeport Hydraulic Company (BHC) to the Aspetuck Land Trust and the Town of Weston.

Trails:

There are 20+ miles of trails located in the area where the towns of Easton, Weston, and Fairfield intersect.
