Silica Mine Hill
Rocky Hill Road, Bridgewater, Litchfield County, Connecticut

Directions:

US 84 west; get off at exit 7 for Federal Road;  turn left; drive a short distance and turn right at the light for Federal Road; take Federal Road north to a right turn onto Route 133; drive 3.5 miles on Route 133 to the bridge over the Housatonic River; drive 0.2 miles more and just after crossing the bridge turn left onto Northrop Road (across from the Lake Lillinonah Boat Launch parking area); drive about 4.0 mile (keep driving straight when Northrop Road becomes Christian Street); keep going to a left turn onto Hemlock Road; drive about 1.5 miles down the road; bear right onto Rocky Hill Road; drive down to the dead end (at house #300 Rocky Hill Road); turn left into the parking area.  The trail is straight ahead.   

( You will be passing by the Anthony and Vanda Ficalora Nature Preserve parking area on Hemlock Road.)

Trails:

The blue-blazed trail heads south down to Iron Ore Hill Road or north along Hemlock Road to Cedar Bridge and then north to the Bridgewater Town Park.
