Located at the mouth of the Goodwives River.
For Darien residents. No dogs, even in car.
Directions:
US 95 north to Exit 10; turn right onto Noroton Avenue; at the T-intersection, turn left onto Boston Post Road (Route1); turn right onto Ring Ends Road; at the T-intersection, turn right onto Pear Tree Point Road. The park is on the right shortly past the intersection with Crane Road on the left.
Geology:
Pear Tree Point Beach is located on the east side of the Darien River on a peninsula that heads into Long Island Sound.
Facilities:
Two beaches, boat launch ramp for boats longer than 12 feet and all power water craft, gazebo overlooking the sound, picnic tables and grills, a bathhouse, concession stand.
Trails:
10/29/2005. There are no trails. This is a small beach with beach on two sides of the rectangle. The two women with us praised the view of the sky and Long Island across the Sound, along with the many boats in the water.
