You can bring a lunch for a picnic at the Miles Sanctuary, once the location of a sawmill, gristmill, cider mill, charcoal industry and home of distinguished artist Emily Winthrop Miles.

Emily Winthrop Miles (1893 - 1962) was a figure sculptor and poet.

She was the daughter of a Mr. Winthrop, a wealthy Boston banker.
