Housatonic River Bikeway

Stratford, Fairfield County, Connecticut

History:

1994  --  the bikeway begun.  The city, with technical assistance from HVA, completed the design and engineering plan the bikeway.  It was estimated that the project would cost $1.1 million, with 80 percent funded by the Intermodal Surface Transportation Act (ISTEA) program.

Trail:

an 8 mile bikeway that will follow the Housatonic river north to the vicinity of The Dock shopping center.
