Trail:

The Herrick Trail goes from Evans Hill Road northwest to connect to the Giddings Connector that in turn hooks up with the Appalachian Trail.  Less than half way on the trail there is a side trail that heads over to Amy's Lookout.   The trail reaches a T-intersection.  A right turn is a side trail that heads northeast to the Housatonic Overlook (that is located on the Appalachian Trail corridor property).  A left turn takes the hiker into the Giddings Connector.

The Giddings Connector is a trail that heads across 33 acres of land.  It has a seasonal pond off trail.  The Connector hooks up with the Appalachian Trail. Turning right a the T-intersection takes the hiker over to Ten Mile River and the Ned Anderson Bridge.  A left turn takes the hiker south over Ten Mile Hill to Route 55.

Open Space:

Southeast of the Housatonic Overlook is the Carlson Farm Open Space along the southwestern shore of the Housatonic River.

The Beatty Subdivision Open Space is located along the north side of Route 55 just east of Anderson Road.  It connects to the land of the Appalachian Trail Corridor.
