Directions:

From Salisbury, take Route 44 north for 1 mile.

The Patricia Winter Woodland Preserve (170 acres). Both are located on Wentauwanchu Mountain.


History:

Among the donors of land for the preserve are Agnes Forsyth, Mary McClintock, Henry Mitchell, John F. B. Mitchell, Gustavus Pope, and Dorothy R. Walker.


Habitats:

steep ledges cut east-west through the center of Hamlet Hill; red maple swamps; post-agricultural lands


Trails:

The AT heads south/southeast from the parking area through the Patricia Winter Woodland Preserve and then east and northeast through the Hamlet Hill Preserve and then heads southeast to end at Sugar Hill Road that takes one to Housatonic River Road, from which one can see the Housatonic River.
