Great Captain's Island
Greenwich, Fairfield County, Connecticut

The island can be reached at high tide by a town ferry.


History:

The island lies off the coast of Byram. 

1868  -- the lighthouse was built.

There is a movement to try to restore the old lighthouse. 

The island has a bird sanctuary for nesting egrets.
